TWIN SEAL FLAP ISOLATOR (For Pulverised Fuel Mill Isolation)
Safety and reliability have been a challenge in today’s coal fired boilers at thermal power stations. Fouress in technical consultation with a few discerning customers developed the perfect solution to the pressing problem of effective Isolation of PF mills. This has been done with the ingenious concept of Twin Seal Flap (TSF) Isolator which guarantees 100% sealing efficiency for safe access to on-load maintenance in PF Mills.
Most of the power plants in India have been using Pneumatically Operated Guillotine Isolators for Mill Isolation. Since the temperature of the primary air at this location is over 300 °C and as these Guillotine Dampers are used only when the mill is to be isolated, due to sharp temperature variation, the blades of these Guillotine Damper are found to get warped over a period of time.
Twin Seal Flap Isolators have proved its efficiency, ever since its first installation at Koradi Thermal Power Station in 1982 and subsequent installations of over 500 units in Thermal Power Stations in India.
Twin Seal flap Isolator (TSF) is the perfect solution for isolation of Pulverised Fuel Mill (Coal Mill) for on-load Maintenance.
Unique double row of seals ensures 99.99 % sealing efficiency on flow.
Possible minor leakage through the first row of seals is vented to the atmosphere through a vent valve, ensuring virtually hundred percent leak tightness across the duct.
TSF can handle pressure up to 2000 mm WC.
Temperature range up to 350 °C
Self lubricated and self aligning outboard mounted special gunmetal bearings.
Swinging design of the flap ensures no jamming of the blade under heavy dust accumulation.
The flap always resides inside the duct and thus warping of the blade due to temperature variance is fully eliminated.
Reduced load on the duct as there is no superstructure above the duct.
Duct level mounted operators and the outboard bearings facilitate easy maintenance.
Full bore design ensures minimum pressure drop.
